A New Addition To The Site - FREE STUFF!!!!

Procreate stamps or brushes of bows for free download.

Well I have done it. I have added a Freebie download page to my web site wich offers free digital downloads. I am starting with a set of Procreate brushes or stamps of bows. We will see how well that takes off and then will add more offerings to the mix. I want to add some of my color swatches and I have created and a couple more stamp brushes. Maybe some texture brushes I have created which I do find useful for myself and I have been following some tutorials on making regular brushes too. I don't really use them myself but maybe I will down the line and in the meantime others might appreciate them. I have to keep the downloads down to a trickle right now as my website is just a free one and I am limited on space but if things take off I might go for a premium site and then I can add so much more. A few years back I was into making mandalas and I had made so many that most of them I didn't get around to coloring. I offered them in Flickr for others to use but my following there was very small. I might put them up here for free coloring pages too. Probably for now anyways, we will just start slow but if you are interested in knowing when I put more free downloads in just go to the bottom of the page anywhere in my website and subscribe. You will be updated each time I add to the site. Where we go from here... well, as the song goes ... "Que Sera Sera"

Then onto the bussiness side of life. I have added my new patterns to Redbubble and FAA. I think they are being recieved quite well but my sales are still mostly in the AI art. No complaints here though. A sale is a sale is a sale. hahaha.

Actually I have come up to one hiccup, which is in fact a pleasant one to have. The plan was to drop my FineArtAmerica account when it is up for renewal this spring but since mentioning that I have recieve a couple of nice sales so I quite obviously need to rethink that strategy. They don't pay often but when they do they pay well. So far my sales there have more than covered my administration fees so I have kept it going. I suppose this year isn't any different. Actually I checked all my sales in the past year there and I am actually doing quite well so it really should be a no brainer. Some times I just need a rock to drop on my head to figure out the obvious.

The trouble there is that I was looking forward to opening a Spoonflower store for just my new patterns. I was going to spend most of my promotional time on that to get established. Not sure if that might be spreading myself too thin right now though. Might have to seriously think this one out some more. Will let you know when I come to any conclusions. On the home front all is well. Still cold as ever here in Eastern Canada with no signs of it letting up but as the song goes, "The Weather outside is frightful but the fire is so delightful" Since we have a small, one story house, we have a wood burning stove to keep us warm on the really really cold days and nights. We also have baseboards and a heat pump so we aren't stuck with just the fire but we mostly use the wood stove. We just rely on the baseboards and heatpump when we go away or when it isn't too extremely cold and we just feel lazy. The heat pump doesn't work when we get to the temps that winters in this part of the country are well known for but in the summer heat it works like a charm to cool the entire house down. So as you can guess, we have a love/hate thing for this silly heat pump.

The wood stove, however, gets our complete admiration. In the winter it is burning most days and others we let it cooled down so we can sweep the chimney. That might be the only time I will curse it. The minute you stop stoking it the chill can start cutting into your bones. Bob tries to do the chimney sweep on days when the heat pump can work or I run to the thermostat for the baseboards. hahaha

Bob's health is doing great and we have transitioned from Christmas indulgences (which we really weren't too naughty this year) back to healthy eating and exercise. It is too cold to go for our walks so Bob has let the paths get snowed over. Hopefully sometime in March we can get back to walking. In the meantime I am prepping my crafting room to double as a minnie gym with an exercise bike and tredmill. I think it is going to get a little crowded in there but it is the best space we have for it so I will find a way to make it work without losing too much crafting space. So a new year brings new joys and new challenges and we are up for it as long as things don't get political around here. hahaha. Hey, I think if we have each other we have the world. Anything else is just gravy, nice but not necessary. Till my next post

All my Best Leslie :)
