Another One Bites The Dust

Moving along with the learning of Procreate and I think I am closer to pinpointing how I want to advance with my new skills. I will be making patterns and also framing quotes and poetry but I will also get involved with creating brushes, stamps and templates to sell. Don't tell anyone but they are in actuality all brushes. There appears to be a nice market in these things and I am finding I have a knack at creating them but mostly I am quite enjoying it so far. I will keep you up to date on that as the time gets closer to publishing my new art form. I am hoping that will be sometime in the new year. In the meanwhile I continue to create AI art daily and upload to my POD's. Right now I am into creating action figures. So far I have a couple of surfers, yoga figures and a figure skater. I have also uploaded a skateboarder I am rather fond of and to date I created figures for 5 sports, baseball, football, hockey, basketball, and soccer. I will upload a new one for swimming today and have a list of more sporting and action images to create. Should keep me uploading for a month or two while I hone my new art in Procreate.

Here is a sample of 4 of my new sports figures. Since I couldn't fit all my new AI images on this one board I chose to add Bob's favorite sports. The 4 staples in every self respecting man cave. hahaha. You'll have to check out my POD's to see the others. Also in Redbubble I sell them all as round images rather than the sqare ones you see here. These are sold in my Pixels store.
I had mentioned in a post or two back that I wasn't happy with my setup and color choices with my Zazzle store so I took the time to create new sets with much more tasteful colors. I was ready to change around some of my selling items to collections depicting the image rather than the item and a few more tweaks. I had planned on adding calendars and greeting cards to the store but when I went into Zazzle to switch it all up I found that at least 60% of the articles I had in my store were unavailable. Aparently that is a common occurance in Zazzle. Since I have yet to sell anything in the store and found myself quite miffed at the thought that all this, I did what I felt right. I closed the Zazzle store. I don't have the time or desire to be fiddling and upgrading a POD that doesn't supply stock well before the holiday season. I really do feel good about doing that now. I am mostly very happy with Redbubble and FineArtAmerica. They are both the cream of the crop when it comes to POD's I find. They each are hands on with customer care and they are more than fair to their artists. Redbubble made a few changes in the markups they allow their artists but it has only helped to boost my sales a bit so I won't complain.
When I decide to launch my new endeavors I am torn between opening an Etsy store or go with Creative Market. It will be handy that I will have the time to dedicate to it with having one less POD. They both handle digital downloads and that is where I want to take my Procreate work. It will be good for home crafters who like to do their own junk journals or do other crafts with their cricuts. If I didn't have my hands full with digital art and beading I would probably have one of those gadgets myself. They look like fun and with the right material the project ideas are never ending. But alas, there are only so many hours in the day.
So that is where things stand in my world. The gardens are put to bed, all the veggies and fruit are canned or frozen and I am settling down indoors quite nicely. Bob is not yet ready to give up his days outdoors and I doubt he will be till winter sets in and maybe even well into the winter but it only serves to keep him busy and out of my hair. We like to meet before supper and he lights a fire by the river where we sit quietly and watch the birds and whatever other wildlife that might venture by. I must admit this is my favorite time of year. I mean, what's not to love about it if you are a cold weather lover?
And on that note I will wish anyone who happens along a nice weekend ahead and I will be back in a week or so to update my online adventures with you. Maybe even add some offline commentary too. I do have a few plans about Christmas decorating. All my best Leslie :)
